Lapso puja

Lapso Puja (also called Lhapso Puja) is an important spiritual ceremony in the Sherpa community dedicated to mountain deities and local protector spirits. It is performed to seek protection, harmony, and blessings—especially for health, livelihood, travel, and work connected to the mountains. The puja typically involves prayers, offerings, incense, and ritual foods, led by a lama or respected elder, and emphasizes respect for nature and the spiritual guardians of the land. For Sherpas, Lapso Puja reflects a deep cultural belief in living in balance with the environment and honoring the sacred forces believed to watch over the community.
